Diversifying the spectrum talent pipeline and supporting and elevating existing diverse voices working in spectrum policy
Spectrum policy is a salient but niche field.
In our increasingly digital world, this area is increasingly important, but there is a shortage of diverse experts. We need to educate future leaders about this important topic, both to encourage diverse students to enter the field and to foster the careers of diverse professionals already working in the industry.

The Diversity in Spectrum Council is excited to announce the 2025 recipients of the Women in Spectrum Scholarship!

This award seeks to recognize and further develop the pipeline of talented women engineers entering fields related to spectrum and communications. In addition to a $1,500 scholarship, the recipients also have the opportunity to attend this year’s IEEE MILCOM conference in Los Angeles, CA.

Congratulations to this year’s winners:
Bharvi Acharya, M.S. Student in Electrical Engineering, Columbia University
Femke Kovoor, Undergraduate Student in Electrical Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology
Gayani Rathnasekara, Ph.D. Candidate in Electrical Engineering, Florida International University
